Nigeria Internetworld Conference and Exhibition (NICE 2010)

Nigeria Internetworld Conference and Exhibition (NICE) is an annual event which provides education, empowerment, networking, business opportunities for Nigerians. It is a gathering of Internet based businesses, service providers, e-Commerce providers and experts that are involved in online marketing, e-commerce technology, web technology and development, content development and management.

Naija Web Update (Mid-January ’10)

Happy New Year to you all!

It’s been a while here on NaijaWebGeek; it’s usually not easy updating a blog as a part-time blogger and especially when you have limited access to the internet.

Since the beginning of the year, a lot has been happening on the web scene, especially on the Naija web scene which I quickly want to update/remind you of.

  • On  the 1st of January, Loy Okezie of Startups Nigeria officially released a Beta Version2.0 of Startups Nigeria.

Startups Nigeria 2.0 is a youth-driven, online community for technology enthusiasts, internet start-ups, companies, entrepreneurs, investors and students, all pioneering innovations in Nigeria’s emerging

start-up industry and social media space.

With the new Startups Nigeria platform (currently on beta), users can create their personal profile, ad

d and promote their start-ups, share their start-up stories, photos, videos, follow other start-ups, find ideal start-up partners, find technology-related jobs, find entrepreneurs and investors and lots more.


  • Still on Loy Okezie, he wrote an interesting article via his personal blog on 10 Nigeria’s web startups to watch in 2010. Not minding the different challenges, Nigerian Web Entreprenuers are coming up in full force this year 2010, we can only wish them the best. Read the Article Here.
  • A group of Nigerians are organising the Nigeria Web Conference (NWC) to hold later this year. The conference was initiated on Nairaland (Naija’s foremost forum) some months back and their website launched 7th January, 2010.

According to the organisers:
The Nigeria Web Conference is the premier conference on Web Development modularity, with an emphasis on modular structures that cut across traditional abstraction boundaries. The conference which bring together leading Developers and IT Practitioners working in such fields as software engineering, programming, systems administrating, graphic designing, and others.

The NWC is also committed to supporting students working in all areas of Web Development via a dedicated Student Forum programme.
